How to contribute ?

I- Where would you find enough data for a new language integration?
All choices here are made on basis of the scientific method1Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach, Stuart J. Russell & Peter Norvig, section 1.3.8, AI adopts the scientific method (1987-present)
& page 770, para. 2: If the desired data is not available, it could be necessary to set up a social networking site to encourage people to share and correct data.
. The third language (Baoule language) has no official wikipedia page for the time. For a new language official wikipedia page we need several validation steps and the process could take several years. The Baoule language has been verified as eligible on January 26th 2017, but it is still in the incubator. We are waiting for the final decision, that could come only after valid wiki pages translations (active test project and translation of the MediaWiki interface into the Baoule language). We don't know when this will be done exactly, in order to put the Baoule language among the Official Wikipedias.

I talked about in the following paper "Baoulé Related Parallel Corpora for Machine Translation tasks: mtBCI-1.0", I advise you to read, please, if you intend to contribute. The appendices of the same paper also include useful information.

II- How to contribute to this project?
As a language project, it is possible for anyone who wants, to add a new translation or propose a better translation than an existing one, in order to contribute. At the end, this will lead to a better performance of the final application that will be useful for Machine-Aided Human Translation (MAHT) tasks and will also serve for the translation of the MediaWiki interface into the Baoule language. In order to contribute, please use the Make a Pairing Proposition Menu. The Add a Proposition on an Existing Pair tab allows contributions on existing English - French - Baoule translation Pairs via their provided ID from the Collected Dataset menu. The Make a New Pairing Proposition tab allows the user to propose a totally new translation or another translation of an existing pair with comments in the Observation field. The contribution could be done anonymously if the user is not connected, otherwise his name will be saved as the contributor. Please, consider ethics when proposing language pairs. If your statement contains toxic and other unpleasant words, do not forget to mention it as "Unethical" in the specified field, this will also serve to toxic comment detection. Thank you.
Please, Sign up before any contribution for a better experience, you will so keep all your contributions into your private space (My Account), and decide what to show to the public (via the Edit button in the List My Contributions menu of your Account).
Please, watch the following YouTube video for a better understanding of the contribution process (it's only less than 10 minutes).

III- We propose a little reward to greater contributors
Even if this interface is intended to encourage free contributions from interested people, we provide a little reward for greater contributors (just for a cup of tea). Indeed, in limitation of our capacity, we provide a reward of 5000 FCFA (about $8 or €7,5) for 200 open-ended language pairs provided and validated [ outside the Baoulé statements from the Bible  (because we will care about this aspect ourselves); may be a Baoulé tale, a Baoulé song, a Baoulé personal statement, etc., that you want us to take into account. And we do proportionally for 100 open-ended language pairs. We could consider a simple sentence or a simple short paragraph as one language pair. Please, look at examples provided at the bottom of the home page. ]. You could also provide it as an attachment in an Excel or Word table including at least the 3 mandatory fields (a template is provided below). Please, do not forget to provide in this case comments about the attachment files in the Observation field of the submission form. Once done you are free to join us and claim your reward via the contact form. You will receive it on an agreed payment channel (PayPal, Orange Money, Mobile Money, Moov Money, Wave, etc.).
In addition, we will freely cite the top 10 contributors in the implied papers and also in the thesis. All other contributors will be mentioned on this website via the About this Pairing menu.
Since 27th June 2024, an implementation of the bci language had been released on Google translate (cf. google-translate-new-languages-2024 on https://blog.google) and could be used to somehow fasten the language pair creation process. I talked about in the Introduction and in the section 6.2 of the following paper "Baoulé Related Parallel Corpora for Machine Translation tasks: mtBCI-1.0", I advise you to read, please, if you intend to contribute. The appendices of the same paper also include useful information.
